The Cantonal Bank of Basle (BKB) is an universal bank active in Basle region, wheras private and commercial banking are its core services. BKB is an institution under public law with states garantee and an AA+ rating from S&P. Since 2000 BKB is the main shareholder of Coop Bank which is active in all Switzerland. Der Konzern BKB positioniert sich als faire Bank. Both institutes' claim is "fair banking". Fair banking means: reliable banking services at reasonable conditions, respectful partnership with clients and employees, recognizing the social and economic responsability in the canton of Basle, as well as careful use of natural resources. BKB's private banking services are also available ouside the canton of Basle, namely in Zurich and Olten.
