Who can upload a portrait here?
What does it cost?
Each portrait is subject to a non-recurring production fee and a recurring annual fee. The annual fee is used in particular for the promotion of the portal as a whole with potential investors. The current price list can be requested by E-mail.
What is the procedure for recording a portrait?
If necessary, we can help you with choosing suitable investment advisors within your bank/company and the wording of the portrait content. After placing the order for the multimedia production with us, our TV team will contact you to set a date for the recording. At the same time you will be informed about the necessary preparations and the detailed procedure. On the day of recording, photos will be taken of you and your offices and video interviews will be conducted in one or more languages. The recordings take a maximum of half a day per person.
Why do investors prefer portraits with photos and videos?
Private banking is a very intimate business. The personal relationship between the investor and his advisor often plays a decisive role in long-term client loyalty. Investors are not able to determine whether or not they like a certain advisor on the basis of plain data alone. However, seeing and hearing the person in a professionally produced video soon allows the viewer to get a gut feeling of whether he or she would be able to feel at ease with this advisor. Investors are more likely to contact investment advisors whom they have already been able to better assess as a person.
Why doesn’t the video include any questions on products and services?
The videos allow the investor to see the investment advisor’s body language and facial expression and hear his voice, etc. This inevitably allows the investor to get a gut feeling of whether or not he or she would able to feel at ease with this advisor. The content of the statements in the video are therefore of secondary importance. Experience has shown that people act most naturally and genuinely if they are permitted to talk spontaneously about personal experiences and views. In addition, the viewer is likely to remember personal statements such as “I was a professional athlete for five years” better than interchangeable and meaningless marketing phrases like “for us the customer is king”. The products and services can be described in as much detail as the advisor likes in the text section of the portrait or on his homepage.
How are prospective investors made aware of the portraits?
The portal operator invests predominantly in professional Internet marketing. Investors surfing the Internet for relevant topics (e.g. on Google or related websites), will come across our search portal with the portraits of investment advisors and are able to contact the selected advisors directly (no media discontinuity).
Are there ever any inquiries from overseas investors?
Yes. The majority of the inquiries sent to the investment advisors portrayed originate from abroad. It is in the nature of the Internet that portraits of investment advisors with corresponding search terms will be found by interested investors from all over the world – especially by investors who are explicitly looking for a private banker in Switzerland.
Are the relevant compliance regulations adhered to?
Yes. With regards to the domestic market (Switzerland or Liechtenstein), no information is published which would not otherwise be permissible on the investment advisor’s homepage. As for outside the domestic market, neither the portal nor the portraits are proactively advertised abroad (i.e. no newspaper ads), but can only be found via Internet search engines at the foreign investors’ own initiative. Furthermore, the website is only available in the prevalent Swiss languages DE, FR, IT and EN.
Is it possible to define the investor profile?
Yes. On the one hand, it is possible to define the minimum investment per investment advisor (e.g. CHF 200,000). On the other hand, the investment advisor has the option of positioning himself specifically for certain investor groups by highlighting certain characteristics (e.g. language skills).
Is this about the person or about the bank/company as well?
Both. When searching for an investment advisor, most investors consider both company-specific characteristics (e.g. bank/company type, bank/company size, location) as well as person-specific characteristics (e.g. age, gender, languages) relevant. An investment advisor’s portrait always contains a description of the bank/company and includes characteristics (e.g.).
Why is there no comparison of the performance of the investment advisors?
Performance is not an objective criterion and can therefore not be easily compared. It invariably depends on the individual context of a portfolio management mandate (investor’s risk profile, time horizon of the investment, specific choice of products such as alternative investments etc.). However, the interested investor has the option of pulling up the investment advisor’s homepage via a link in his portrait and seeking out individual and differentiated statements relating to performance.
